SKVE HOLDINGS SDN BHD incorporated as a private limited company on 24th June 1996 under the Malaysian Companies Act 1965 was established as a special purpose company to initiate the privatization of the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE).

With the development of the country’s new administrative capital, Putrajaya, about 30km south of the Kuala Lumpur city centre, there was a need to have a good expressway which links Kuala Lumpur city centre to the new capital from the North-South Expressway.

Realizing the importance of having an expressway linking the booming towns in southern Klang Valley, including Putrajaya; the first phase of the project was awarded to SKVE Holdings Sdn Bhd to construct Section 1A of the SKVE on “Turnkey Design and Build’ basis. The highway was successfully built and completed in the year 2000.

Negotiations to recommence construction of the uncompleted 44km of the expressway project began shortly afterwards in 2001.

On 29th August 2006, SKVE Holdings Sdn Bhd was granted the concession rights by the Government of Malaysia to undertake the Privatization of the South Klang Valley Expressway.

Physical construction of the highway commenced on 1st February 2008 and it is projected to be completed in 2013. The operations of the highway will be based on closed tolling system.

Upon full completion, SKVE will form the major expressway from the North South Expressway to Putrajaya, the Cyber City of Cyberjaya, Teluk Panglima Garang, Pulau Carey and to Westport at Pulau Indah, the main container port for Malaysia. It will also provide a direct linkage from the south to the container terminal of Port Klang.

The expressway is expected to provide new growth areas for residential and industrial sectors within the vicinity.
